Wilderness Camp Logo Contest

Wilderness is looking for a logo!!

The Northwest Wilderness Society of the Unitarian Church is looking for a new logo for our wilderness camp on Kootenay Lake in southeast British Columbia.

Our boat-in-only camp, that we call Wilderness, is turning 50 this year and we are looking for a striking design that we can use to identify camp on all our materials, newsletters, T-shirts, posters, signs, website and even our canoes!

The camp has used many images for promotion but has never really had a formally established logo.  We are looking for a design that could incorporate the words “Wilderness Camp” and possibly a version of the symbolic Unitarian chalice lamp. But above all the logo must reflect the natural beauty and wildness of our camp and beaches.

For more background please see the website at www.kootenaywildernesscamping.org.   and be sure to read the Mission Statement and Vision.

The camp was founded, and still is strongly supported, by members of the American and Canadian Unitarian Universalist Churches.

Artwork should capture the spirit of wilderness, be suitable for screen printing on T shirts or Hats and be of high resolution. The artwork should work in both full colour and 2 colour versions. The logo may also be used on the website, any posters or printed materials, including signs and decals.

The chalice image has long been the a symbol of UUs and of the the identity of the camp.

The Selected Logo Design

The high resolution artwork should capture the spirit of Wilderness camp. It must be suitable for use in both colour and black and white versions (for screen printing on T shirts or Hats). The logo will be used on the website, any posters or printed materials, signs and decals.

The selected designer will be recognized on the website and where possible on all materials that use the logo.

The designer will receive duplicate copies of all initial materials produced with the logo: T-Shirts, posters, letterheads, etc.

The designer will be invited to two nights free camping for two people (children free) at their choice of date in July-August either 2016 or 2017 (cash value $52).

Submissions or queries should be submitted by May 30, 2016 to:
